Dayo Computer & Vocational Training
Dream Achievers Cyber, Computer & Vocational Training is a project of DAYO, arm at empowering youth of aged 18-35 with employable vocational skills and also equips them with entrepreneurial skills to start and run their own businesses while others who opt for employment get first-hand experience. Dream Achievers Cyber & Computer Vocational Training is located in Mtopanga village Kadzandani ward in Kisauni Sub-County. The projects take upon it to link the graduates to potential employers.
In 2015, DAYO initiated an Entrepreneur Resource Centre known as Imarisha Vijana Centre targeting youths within Mombasa that will provide opportunity and preparing young people in the community to join the job market in the formal and informal sector, through provision of services that will include basic computer usage of seven Microsoft Packages, Graphics, Internet marketing of business, resume development or job search through internet, and E-Government services.
Kenya Community Development Foundation (KCDF)
Through funds from KCDF; The Centre has procured a number of equipment’s that will guarantee effective access to the information mentioned above, the equipment’s include: six (6) desktop computers for clients and one as the server, 1 paper binder, a printer, laminator and a standard photocopier.
This Centre is managed as social enterprise though commitment fee charged from the youths and members of the organization for all services offered to assist in maintenance and recurrent expenditures as a way of sustainability. As an example of youth empowerment, the centre employed a youth who is qualified to offer quality skills to potential trainees and also offer high level assistance to the clients at the cyber.
