We Lead is an inspiring, innovative and far-reaching programme that truly puts girls and young women
in the driving seat as rights holders by supporting them to impactful and sustainable advocacy for their
sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The overall objective of We Lead is to ensure that by
the end of 2025, resilient young women with disabilities, living with HIV, affected by displacement or
identifying as LBTI, play a leading role in strengthened and inclusive organizations and movements that
enjoy increased public support and have convinced duty-bearers and health-service providers to take steps
towards implementing laws, policies and practices that respect and protect these young women’s SRHR.
The project is implemented in nine countries across three continents: Lebanon, Jordan, Niger, Nigeria,
Mozambique, Kenya, Uganda, Guatemala and Honduras. In all these countries, young women from four
rights holder groups (young women with disability, young women living with HIV, young women
affected by displacement and young women who identify as LBTI) work together in inspiring national
level Communities of Action (CoAs).
The Kenyan We Lead COA consists of Dream Achievers Youth Organization (DAYO) and twelve
(12) other grass root organizations that are either led by right holders or serving right holders, working in
various counties across Kenya to enhance the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of the four right
holders that the project is focusing on
