Health and SRHR

It has been acknowledged in various literature that the development of any nation is wholly dependent on the health status of its population especially the adolescents and young people. Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights is one area of health that needs more investment in order to combat negative health outcomes such us early sexual debut, low contraceptive intake, high HIV prevalence rate, unintended/teen pregnancies, unsafe abortion related problems, drugs and substance abuse, early marriages and sexual and gender based violence.

Through various partnerships and collaborations, Dream Achievers Youth Organization continues to advocate for strengthened implementation of policies and establishment of Youth Friendly Centers that reflect the SRHR needs of adolescents and young people in Kenya.

With increased awareness on menstrual health and hygiene and the provision of dignity kits will not only keep many girls in school but enable them to realize their dream that are cut off by unintended pregnancies as a result of period poverty. Based on this, we endeavor to advocate for the domestication of the Menstrual Health Management Policy by counties in order to reflect the local realities thus meeting the needs of the community.

For more than ten years we have been Implemented gender-based violence (GBV) and sexual and reproductive health (SRH) HIV/AIDs contraceptive, and Menstrual Health Management work. With funding from the Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF), Family Health Option Kenya(FHOK), FilimAid Kenya, Dance 4 Life, & National AIDS Control Council (NACC).
